You’re Safe Now

Watercolor & gouache, Exhibit Work for Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan’s Annual Exhibit At Home: Scenes from the Everyday, 2023

My artwork ‘You’re Safe Now’ is my take on home. It is a watercolor and gouache tribute to the pets that a lot of us have given a home to.

Also, I dedicate this piece too to Nip, our first ever ginger boy we took in inside our home; Tiger, our first ever ginger boy we fed and had become a regular visitor when I was nine years old; and Brent, our latest ginger boy we brought home.

“Hey, don’t worry—you’re home now. Do you know what that means? Home is where there’s a family who will love you, where it’s warm and dry, where you won’t go hungry or thirsty, and where you’ll be safe from anything that could ever harm you.”
