There’s a Risk When You Light a Candle

There’s a risk in lighting a candle.

The angel's hands get hurt from the melted wax that's going down on her skin, but she keeps holding onto it.

Because when we strike a match to light the candle of truth, there's the risk of getting hurt, of getting persecuted, of being ridiculed.

Yet we still risk it, because the lives of people are hinging on that truth that needs to be bared and magnified, in case some forgot about it.

Don’t Let the Clouds Dim your Light

Somebody gave me a match before when times were dark. It's one thing to strike a match, but I fashioned myself a candle, so the light will last longer. Protecting the flame with my wings, I'm careful to not let it die prematurely because of the suffocating clouds around me. I hope to use the candlelight longer, so it can continue to shed the light on the truth, in case we forget what it was like to live in darkness, deceit, and death some years ago.
