A Storyteller

Digital, September 2021

She spun around in the dark of her mind where all the stories yet to be told simmered like primordial soup; she couldn’t wait to share to others the characters and adventures they were in.

They will arrive, hailing from her dreamscape, from her imagination, from her life, from her curiosities, and from the inspirations of the world and people around her. But they all waited for the girl to believe in what she can offer. “Hope. That is what I can offer,” she said. It’s not economical nor tangible, but it’s something that a black hole can’t swallow.

When she told herself that she was indeed a writer and an illustrator—essentially, a storyteller—the stars aligned, and she picked up her pen and paintbrush and pigment.

When she donned her cape, and when she waved her hands, color and light erupted, and stories were born into the night, as countless as the stars above, the stars in her cape, and the stars in her eyes.
